Lovers Out of Phase
Winter calls
The lake
Seems more like an ocean today
Shore cloaked by the
Desire laden sky
Clouds fallen on their knees
Knelt to kiss
Tahoe’s calm face
Undisturbed by
Heaven-bound breezes
In the grey hours of
Mountain twilight
Air, thick and white with presence
An entity of condensation
Cups the basin
With gentle scooping hands
A bubble of warm air
Releasing it’s breath
Transforming the first gift
Of fluffy falling snow
Into a nebulous layer of misting moisture
Separating liquid water from solid
Giving the living aquifer a hazy halo

I started this poem on a drive around Lake Tahoe with the hubs. Occasionally, I go a little stir-crazy and need to get out of the house, but I don’t feel up to being around people or even getting out of the car. So we go on a short drive. It's one of the best things about living in Lake Tahoe. You can enjoy the beauty of nature from the comfort of your home, or in this case, your car. There are some pretty amazing views along the road that ring it, and I’m always inspired when we drive it.

This is relatable. I work for a public park around a bay/ wetlands, and driving past the water especially on a foggy day is a vibe. I can’t articulate it as well as you did here, all I can do is agree.
