~Love Note
Voice of a siren
A picture of perfection
Song of destruction
~Silence
Tremors taking hold
White noise inundates my soul
Laughing in my face
~Listen
My unbridled joy
Soar to unparalleled height
Letting sound ebb through
~Banter
Miss your lilting voice
My only sparring partner
I’m always en Garde
~Dreamy
Dominate my dreams
Fill my open mind and mouth
Dance upon my lips
~Dream Girl
Tiny ruby lips
Perfect for a night time kiss
Dissolved with the sun
~Haircut
Not one out of place
Coif that sets my heart ablaze
Lips part and moisten
I know that I am non-traditional in my Haiku writing style. I don’t much care. I love haiku's format and rhythm, but I am not always inspired by what we usually see as “nature.” I think people, their physicality, their emotional state, and their actions are all part of nature and are equally worthy of these simple but thoughtful passages.
We have all been so infatuated with someone they keep showing up in our dreams. At least I hope all of us have, that’s not just me… I am a total sucker for a good voice. I love singing, spoken word poetry, stage acting, and even radio productions. Anything that showcases the voice as the primary instrument.
