Love You Out Loud

Day 38/365

By Ellie HoovsPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

I wish I could love you out loud

but I cannot shout

above the cacophony of your silence

that echoes in the chasm

you’ve carved out with your indifference

You dress me in blame

because you won’t make friends with

the shame you keep hidden

in the back of your closet

we are supposed to be the breakres

of generational chains

but you wear yours like a talisman

shining it’s reflection in every corner

until it’s all you see

I wish I could love you out loud

but you refuse to lead

in loving me.
