Self-Love

Is it so wrong,

To want a place to belong,

A mission lifelong,

Not a loneliness to prolong,

To feel so strong,

In the eyes of the throng.

But listen to the birdsong,

Until that vision is foregone,

Some transformation undergone,

To realize the love has been inside all along.

Mono-rhyme is less that 50 words.- Very impressive. Absolutely beautiful to boot.

Impressive mono-rhyme work! That’s not easy to pull off and you definitely did! And in 50 words no less! Great entry, Alyssa!

This flows beautifully, like a quiet revelation unfolding. The rhyme scheme feels effortless, and the ending lands with warmth and wisdom. Love really does begin within—well said!

Oooo! This is good, the idea that so many of us can relate to search for love when the best kind can be found inside!! So masterfully written!
