Love song

If I wrote you a love song, what would it say?

If I wrote you a love song, Just what would you have me say?

What would you like to hear? All the magic words have been used, they are gone.

Would I love you to your dying days? I would if I could, this you know I would say.

Should I hold you hand, and call you dear?

If I wrote you a love song, the words in ink they'd melt your heart I would pray.

Should the tempo be fast or slow?

My pages are blank, all the words are gone.

Would your cares be like our yester years, would you be close, your body near?

If I wrote you a love song, would it be enough for your today, or is it far too late?

Would I be your hero, the one you'd cheer?

Would the words be right, or would you just laugh at their sight?

Could the beat of our song make your body sway?

Maybe you'd just sigh, and say I am queer.

Maybe there is nothing to say, no more song.

I don't know, I'm just a boy who loves a girl, and I want to hear you sing...

Perhaps the lyrics could be this song I write for you, or maybe...

nothing at all.
