Love on the Rocks (With a Twist of Laughter)
A Stand-Up Poem About the Comedy of Romance

Ladies and gentlemen, gather around,
Tonight, love takes the stage—I hope it won’t bomb out!
_ _ _
Love is like WiFi—strong at the start,
Then suddenly, boom, it drops in the dark!
You whisper sweet nothings, I hang on each word,
Till one day, “Did you take out the trash?” is all that I’ve heard.
_ _ _
Falling in love? Oh, it’s a wild ride,
Butterflies, fireworks—you’re bursting with pride!
But staying in love? Now, that’s the real feat,
It’s choosing the same weirdo, on repeat.
_ _ _
Remember the honeymoon phase? Oh, what a dream!
Now we argue over thermostats—hot or ice cream?
Your snoring’s a love song—off-key, out of tune,
Yet somehow, I miss it when you’re out of the room.
_ _ _
Relationships are teamwork, a bond made to last,
Like two GPS apps—just yelling, “Turn left!” too fast!
But through all the mishaps, the quirks, and the mess,
I’d still pick our chaos—because love is the best.
_ _ _
So here’s to the laughs, the highs, and the lows,
To my forever audience, through all of life’s shows.
Because love’s not perfect, but hey, that’s all right,
It’s the best comedy special—playing every night!
