How as a dog

Do I convince a dog?

Not to eat meat

How do you explain?

There's mainly fox

Amongst the sheep

As a fox to a sheep

What could possibly prepare us?

For gods tremendous ways

After years of thee pursuit for a mate

I must now

Knowingly, be an accomplice in the capturing

Of my beautiful butterfly

Her wings, still untouched

Her essence, still pure love

Naive to the effects she has on the elements

And to the effects the elements will have on her

I share in her comfort and longing

Watching her roam the mother daily

Wishing to help soothe her emptiness

Knowing my place, as influential and grounding

Far from grace at times

I am too important to fall from it

So like an anchored shadow

I stick around, quiet, but hard to move, to serve your shine

Knowing that profound space I fill in her heart

Will always be greater, but never the same

And one day I'll have to let go

In hopes for more than me

In the name, she vows to take

Oh blessed, these days

I watch her run in the sun

Singing in harmonies with the flight of the doves

Leafy green fingers softly rush through hers

As she seeks for love in the skies above

Don't torment her God.

For who is she, but a girl, in love with your love

Who wonders, as I've wondered

What is love, if not all of this, surrounding us?
