Love My Country, My Land, My Home

Remembering Yesteryear

By Lamont Renzo BracyPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

My blood races, through the empty spaces

Like I’m traveling in time, trying to find a reason or rhyme

Or perhaps a better year, when life was glistened with cheer

So i stay in pursuit, for a place I call mine

Where the field are plentiful, and the Orchards are cherry like Wine

Is it too much to consider? I ponder and quiver

On the memories of yonder, on the road back from Denver

Zip up your coat, and wear your toboggan, what mamma use to say

Two bits, and a beer, for a honest day pay

But those were the day’s, If I could go back

In so many ways

I can still see the common men gathered in the square by the fire

Some with socks on their hands, in conspicuous attire

For what? it seems no one cares, in this World full of despair

Tell me its fine, as I walk to the stairs

Is it just here, or is it, the whole World’s impaired?

I never really questioned, or bet yet dared

To love or too hate is to each and its own

For I love my land and my Country, that’s what I call home
