You have the keys of my breath,

The lock over my heart,

Yet I feel nothing.

Because I have been dead for an eternity,

You just found me here,

In a valley of tears.

Desperately locking and unlocking the vines of a thousand roses,

Yet I have nothing,

You cry.

Watering the meadows in your grief for me,

Yet I can’t hear you.

As the rain falls,

So does the lips of a scarlet secret,

You embrace me while I am only a ghost trapped in your mind,

Yet I feel nothing.

When will you let me go.

When will you see,

I’ve haunted you forever within your memories,

And in those memories I am the promise of death of a lonely heart.

About the Creator

A. Raphael

Poetry is my first love, and writing words onto paper is my therapy. Maybe my submissions will make you feel something, too.

If you find something in my words, then it is my pleasure.
