Love is working 14 hours a day
Then coming home for family time
Having snacks together
Assembling jigsaw puzzles
Bleary-eyed at midnight

Love is going hungry to feed somebody else
Giving someone else a bath
When you’re too tired to shower yourself
Wearing the same socks for two or three days
The same unwashed robe for a month
<
Love is staying up to see each other
If only for an hour or two
Enduring snoring that keeps you awake
Because the other person needs the sleep more
Everyone suffering
But happy together
