Love, It Still Fits

Although my body has changed (there are a few more stretch marks decorating my skin now) it still fits, a snug and

nostalgic comfort. The butterflies that have

never died are fluttering faster and faster waiting for you to walk

in. Will you be catapulted into last year and then your eyes start to water, causing you to joke about the inconspicuous dust in the air? Or will you lose your

voice again and be thankful I've always been able to read your

eyes because they always speak the unfiltered truth? I can hear you walking up the driveway, so I stand

ready and waiting, like you did a year ago. You come and freeze, only for a

second, before you walk down the aisle-like hallway to stand by me again. Here we

are, under another archway, deepening our love,

renewing our vows in the moment of silence. Then we are embracing, and like a thousand times before, I'm relieved

you and I still fit together like the notes we danced to that night, even more than the fact the dress still fits.

Wow. This is a lovely tribute to lasting love. I adore the idea of "the butterflies that have never died".

Hey. its only one year, give it a few more before fitting the dress again. Nostalgia, what a dream of what was and that which is to come.

My husband would be like "WTF!" if I did that. I'm almost tempted to try it to see his face. Your poem though was just lovely. So lovely.

Awesome!!! And the video was a nice touch. I could feel how they both felt. Her plan worked, lol.

You've crafted a poem as delicate and beautiful as the butterflies that dance through your words. 🦋🥰...I loved reading it...

Very sweet and we all wish that we would fit into that wedding dress a year later!! (and some try ten or twenty years later to be dismayed, LOL).
