Love isn’t venom.

They won’t change.

By Zayne SiarisPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

When someone you hold very near and dear to your heart, says something, you choose to believe in everything they say. Like honey leaving their lips.

Until one day the honey, that was once sweet and kind words, turns into venom. Terrible words, poisoning your mind. Causing you to doubt your very existence.

Their once loving arms, you thought of like silk ribbon, turns into barbed wire. Ripping at your flesh. Until you lay begging, for them to stop.

You will learn to walk away, but it still pains you. Because for so long, you saw them as a symbol of love and not for the wrongs they committed against you.

Stop dismissing abuse because you love them. You have to remember what it’s like to love yourself too. Stop subjecting yourself to misery. You are deserving of so much more than nursing your wounds behind closed doors.

About the Creator

Zayne Siaris

I love writing. Especially poetry. About love, about people and different beautiful interactions. Or even the simplicity of nature. I’m quite novice, but I’m sure I’ll learn along the way.
