You were the kind I did not keep
The kind that was mine
“Keep me sane” I said
“I can’t” you said
Cry I did for you, over and over
Sane was not me for a long time I was with you
But you were my sane, I think?
“How can I be sane on my own?”
Not even god knew
He left me with you
But mine I did not keep
Why? You ask.
I’m not sane when I’m with you
