Dust swirls in low clouds
As hooves beat frantic circles
Uncertain of the human
Who stands watching from the center
And calmly ’ho’s and leans her body
Guiding the uncertainty
Until the ears turn to listen
To her knowing guidance
Day by day, slowly building trust
For love is patient
