Love Is Inane?

Questions asked of a wise fictional entity

What is love in your opinion?

Love is truly like an onion

Layers upon layers as you look deep

Not talking about making love

Or in other words: to *bleep*

But the emotion

That in our minds can seep

And like idiots make us seem

When the stupidity can fade away

As you look at your lover

Everything they do seems in disarray

But in your eyes its simply more to uncover

You may call it naiveté

Maybe even a cliché

Or simply hormone excretion

All I can say is, love is without reason

But what if one didn’t experience that kind of love?

Love is all encompassing

As a mother looks at her child

Or even a lioness to her cub in the wild

Love comes in all forms, always cosy and warm

Love is what drives home this poem

Is that all there is to love?

While love can bring about peace and serenity

It can bring about struggle through impurity

“Love makes the world go round” as they say

And it’s true

Love can affect lives, I say

Wars start because of materialistic love

On the other hand, through the struggle,

People come together and tyrants they shove

Two sides to the same coin, etched for eternity

Love is both good and evil, true insanity

If love is so inane, then why go through the pain?

Because through love, humanity we attain.
