Love is Blind

a letter from the heart

You say you want Love

You want validation

I know this to be true

Because I see myself in you

You wouldn't know what Love is

even if it hit you on the head

even if it responded every time you call

even if it took you in, transformed you, and then set you free

even if it gave you nourishment in the face of self-sacrifice

even if it knew the darkest corners of your heart & chose to stay

even if it remembered the real you

when you hurt it with the words you say

You say you want Love

but you choose the superficial

You say you want connection

but cling to crumbs of hope

What we share

is an actual investment

You don't even know

you have Love sitting under your nose.

It’s a reminder that love isn’t always what we think it is—it’s often right in front of us. Appreciate you putting this out there. Great work!
