You live like fire,
wild and free with a need for joy,
for fuel,
and me?
I need your eyes on my face,
when the sun is low.
So I can be the wave to wash away,
the dirt of a hard day from your skin.
I am the moon to your sun.
And live in the dim.
I have not been soft in so long,
that I fear I will fail you,
and add one more sin to my soul.
I glow for you,
I am made of your rich gold hues.
And that can't be.
I can't live and grow for you.
Only for me.
So I let you go,
and go dull and dour.
Just for now.
So that I can seek the soft and raw,
in the hard knot at my core.
One day I will give you fire,
but for now, I make you free,
and hope that you soar.

Wow! I am so in love with this one ✨❤️✨ Really happy to have found your poems!
Of the many stunning lines, I particularly loved this one: "I have not been soft in so long, that I fear I will fail you, and add one more sin to my soul." Wow. This was a fantastic creation. Great job!
You keep knocking it out of the park!
