To Show You I Tattooed Your Name On My Heart

When the world gets dark,

And night closes in on you,

When you can't say how you feel,

Or,

When we misunderstand each other,

If you feel like you can't get up in the morning,

When the pain stops you from sleeping,

When you wake up from another nightmare,

And your whole view of me is distorted,

I will be there to hold you, comfort you,

And, to love you forever,

I will be there to reassure you that

I still care,

No matter how much you scream and

push me away.

I'll be there to kiss you in the morning,

And at night,

To wipe the tears from your eyes,

And to hold you tight;

I will make your food,

And bring your drinks,

I will do the things you feel

unable to do;

I know you won't believe me,

though love defies disability,

So to show you,

I tattoed your name on my heart.
