LOVE COMES BACK
They say it's better to have loved and lost,
Than never to have loved at all,
But when you feel you've paid love's heavy cost,
You're just not ready to fall, again,
You once stood proud,
But now you're bowed,
Broken down to a crawl,
Your head is heavy, your heart is dark,
Light is difficult to recall,
But then,
(refrain)
Love comes back,
Love comes back,
Even though you don't expect it,
Yeah love comes back,
At your lowest low,
With nowhere to go,
You might not know it,
But love comes back,
(bridge)
There's not much place in the world today,
Where your hopes can pin,
But you can trust me when I say,
Love's always gonna win,
Love's so strong, everything seems wrong,
When it's not at your door,
Leaves you confused, everything to lose,
Wounded on the forest floor,
But despite your pain, the torrential rain,
Will help you heal once more,
When your heart's not free, you just can't see,
What life has in store,
But then,
Love comes back,
Love comes back,
Even though you don't expect it,
Yeah love comes back,
At your lowest low,
With nowhere to go,
You might not know it,
But love comes back!
About the Creator
Ken Donner
Been writing since I was 9 years old or so.
Can't help myself.
It's how I'm wired.
A multitude of verse.
"I may never learn to fly, but keep the sky above me open, just in case."
