Love children

With disabilities.

Disabilities come in

Many different forms

And parents are never

Fully prepared for the disability

When it is born into their family.

Sometimes, one parent walks away

And the other parent stays to raise

The child with the disability.

The parent that stays realizes

That while the disability can act like a

Bear in the forest and is hard to

Tame at times. That you never give

Up on the child with the disability.

You continue to research

And find specialists

Who are experts and will work

With you and your child.

You love your child on the best

And the worst days.

You become the warrior and you hunt

For the people who will help you

And your child no matter what.

You see your child as a gift and

A blessing. You are able to see past

The disability even though other

People may not.

You see that your child is more

Than just a child with a disability.

Never give up faith that things

Will get better and you will

Get through this together.

Love always finds a way!

So, live a life with purpose and hope

And love your child and their disability.

You will begin to see your child as

A superhero and their disability

As their superpower.

My son's superpower is

Autism and ADHD and

He is my superhero!
