Love Brain

Stuck In The In-Between

Fire singes inside me burning through thoughts

Of you that I’ve tried my best to bury,

But finding a single ember, someone

Has enlightened the raw wounds of me,

And you

Into a fire that warms the village.

In another world we sleep soundly on

Your couch, with my body held against yours,

Feeling safe enough to close my eyes; sleeping

between your arms, and chest,

They seem to fit me.

Floating in the center, I’ve yet to let go

Uncertain of the new, or something I already know…

Wouldn't you just leave me?

Or are we true to let our love grow?

Pulled between a known, grown, and destined love,

I believe I also can’t toss away my blossom of – you.

Yes, I wholeheartedly say “I do’” my

One true love, and yet my soul, my brain

Still questions too.
