Fire singes inside me burning through thoughts
Of you that I’ve tried my best to bury,
But finding a single ember, someone
Has enlightened the raw wounds of me,
And you
Into a fire that warms the village.
-
In another world we sleep soundly on
Your couch, with my body held against yours,
Feeling safe enough to close my eyes; sleeping
between your arms, and chest,
They seem to fit me.
-
Floating in the center, I’ve yet to let go
Uncertain of the new, or something I already know…
Wouldn't you just leave me?
Or are we true?
-
Should I never have reached out again?
I don’t want to wonder if, what, or when.
Our time was meant to be, somewhere….
So if there was one thing that was certain,
There was a you and a me.
-
Pulled between a known, grown, and destined love,
I believe I also can’t toss away my blossom of you.
Yes, I wholeheartedly say “I do’” my
One true love, and yet my soul,
Still thinks too.
Waiting games
-
Starting to wake with
Zest again, I
Put on my makeup to
Look pretty for you.
-
Waiting on my couch
Phone in hand,
With nothing else to do
Without plans,
(Like it's the seventies,
Just without the cord)
I wait for you.
I’m only one call
Away from your
Sweet words that
In-prison my
Faceless identity…
-
Just words, yet
So eagerly they
Slither into me with
Promises so empty they
Quietly urge me to
Turn off my phone.
