Love at Second Sight

Nice to meet you

I came to a place where the words felt new,

Where the streets spoke a language I barely knew.

In a quiet class, on an ordinary day,

You sat beside me and my fear slipped away.

We shared the same notes, the same little mistakes,

Two strangers surprised by the paths that fate makes.

After the lesson, you walked to the bus with me,

Asking for directions so gently, so softly.

I walked too fast, you laughed at my pace,

But your smile slowed everything around that place.

On the bus you chose a seat, but I hid in my shy corner,

Still you came closer, making the moment warmer.

You looked at me with a kindness so true,

Saying “Nice to meet you,” like the world paused for you.

And when you said someday we should share a coffee,

My heart held the words I was too quiet to speak.

It’s been weeks, and I wonder if you felt it too,

That sudden spark in a country so new.

Maybe love doesn’t always come at first sight,

Sometimes it arrives softly, like you did that night.
