The Beautiful Tragedy

So it is over, but the story had just begun. It has already been told, like the setting of the sun. Swept off his feet by the ocean’s tide, he was already drowning in the unknown, feelings he cannot hide. He had no way to save himself as he was being pulled out to sea, here is the letter he will never write for thee:

You are the reason I believe in love at first sight. I never stood a chance. Even before the sober words stumbled out of my mouth like a drunken slosh to ask you for a date, I was utterly enthralled.

She didn’t give him a chance to stand and fight his fight, for this is love, the one of first sight. They warn of this in the academy of love, but it still evades even the swiftest of minds, there is no peace, there is no dove. It’s a folk tale until it happens to the heart to find, you are now forever trapped in the sands of time. He had no way to save himself as he was being pulled out to sea, here continues the letter he will never write for thee:

I’m not going to lie, I’m still mad at that. As a person who has prided my entire life on logic and structure, you threw a cog in that wheel before I ever even spoke to you. Even still, nearly a year later, I shake my head when I even entertain the thought of love at first sight. How can you have feelings for someone you don’t even know?I knew it before I knew it, though. You were different, and I couldn’t put my finger on it, I still can’t. But I knew, before you ever truly entered my life, that you would absolutely change it.

It becomes a part of his story, and it sculpts him into an individual unlike himself: a new one, a better one, something for pedestal or shelf. His account becomes fantasy as quickly as it became a reality, and the worst part is it already sustained the fatality. He had no way to save himself as he was being pulled out to sea, here continues the letter he will never write for thee:

For months, I walked around life like a boy without a map in unknown streets. It was the first time I knew the freedom to be myself, my true self, and I had no idea where to start. Though I found part of me through helping others, I knew that there was more I needed. I wasn’t grown yet. I made a fool of myself for nearly half a year, and I didn’t really care because, for the first time in my young life, I only had responsibility for me, myself, and I.

The flame blew out, and the coals are cold, the cards are in the fold, and he hasn’t been told. Reverie sets in and telling his next of kin would feel like a sin. He’s in the fairy tale, can’t he see, and it doesn’t become a reality until it happens to thee… He is trapped.

Trapped in the world, but he’s been set free. Drifting at sea, now the tides have pulled him out. The world is different as he’s no longer on land. Everything is the same, but the water became sand. He had no way to save himself as he was already pulled out to sea, here continues the letter he will never write for thee:

Then came this absolutely beautiful girl into my workplace; then came you. I remember when I first saw you working there, and I was undeniably interested. I’m not going to lie, I thought you looked a little dorky with your big, thick-rimmed glasses, but you made dorky so attractive. It was a different type of attraction, though. A few weeks passed, and then I got word that the new girl likes me. Boy, did I smile, I mean a big old cheesy smile. They say love makes you a fool, and lord knows you made me the biggest of them all. The reason I fell in love at the snap of the finger was that you the missing piece that I was searching for all those years prior.

Weightless and buoyant, he floats the length of a mile. The story may have been over before it began, but he can’t forget the way she made him smile.

Doesn’t he see? When something ends, that means something else is at day one. This was merely the crumb, of life’s bountiful bread. The chapter has closed, and you can’t seem to understand the end, and you never will, until you look to the next. Perplexed, I know, but that’s the way life goes. When they don’t give you the end, you have to make it your own.

What you need to see, is that when one slam the book closed on thee, the only thing you’ll know is that it’s your past, you’re set free.

He turned his back and ran like the wind, he may be blind, but he’ll find his way. When this is done, he won’t see the future, and you won’t get that closure. Not in the sun of tomorrow or today.

He turned his back and ran because once you get to the end of the next chapter, you’ll see why they were there and love fell with the ascending rapture. The story was over before it had begun, but the journey’s the story, and it’s not always fun. He had no way to save himself as he was alone in the center of the sea, here continues the letter he will never write for thee:

I am sitting here as the sentimental and hopeless romantic I am, and I realize that we were two different people on two different ships in life. For one calm, moonlit, night in the sea of romance, we passed by each other in different directions. For a moment, one sweet moment, an instant in the time of life, we shared a synchronized wind. As I viewed onto your ship, you know what I saw?

He flipped the pages and turned them as fast as can be. The next chapter, the next, and the one after. Where’s the redemption, where’s the heal to the fracture?

There is none, and that’s the truth. He’s still drifting at sea, and all this was a spoof. Progress is hidden; you haven’t the knowledge of a pigeon. This false awakening leaves the plagued aloof.

He swims back to show, now he knows more, and he thinks he knows for sure. But there she stands. What good is the land?

Heavy and fry, the loss of the oceans endless sky. How do you live here? He asks why. He was beginning to save himself as he was back from the sea, here continues the letter he will never write for thee:

I saw that missing piece. I saw a template of a girl I will continue to search for. Since you drifted from my life, I have become a completely different person. Like I said, I hate saying that I fell at the snap of the fingers because it doesn’t make any logical sense. The thing is, you taught me that I don’t always have to be a rational being, and that’s a lesson I'm still learning. And for that, I thank you.

He turned his back and ran because once you get to the end of the chapter, he will finally see the reason for loves ascending rapture.

It all started when his heart she captured, starting this story, of love unevenly manufactured. He knew how to save himself as he walked to flee, here ends the letter he will never write for thee:

You are one of the few things that I knew I wanted without a doubt. I know our paths will never cross again, and that I have found my peace. You are my source of pain that will continue to push me forward, and that’s all I can ask of you.

And so here ends the story, of the boy of love forsaken. Writing in detachment about love, the type of first sight. Because writing the lonely letter would be one of too much might.
