Lost sight of first love

Love At First Sight

By Davida PolesPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I was always one to believe in things I could not see.

Except for the love the day our eyes met.

It was cold, which you hated, but you liked our conversation so much, you stood there to hear my voice.

That day started up nonstop conversations for more than twenty-four months.

Looking back on earlier days, I realized I probably loved you ever since that first look.

Now personally , I never believed in love at first sight.

I thought it was just a concept people made up to justify marrying someone the day after you met them.

But, I got into a relationship and the first thought of love was the very first glance.

We didn’t even talk the day I saw you.

It took almost a month to muster up what I would say if we spoke.

And when we actually did , I thought about you all the time.

I was so curious of those locked doors I noticed when you opened your mind.

Once I began to peak where I shouldn’t , I found out things about you.

Things that made you seem cruel.

Things that made you seem angry.

Things that made you who you are.

But through it all, everything you expressed to me made my heart yearn to hug yours.

Then in return, I get your attention and understanding.

Ever since the very first day we spoke.

I was always one to believe in things I could not see.

Not sure how the instant love from your first words could hide behind my own thoughts.

I never believed in love at first sight , until the day I met you.
