Lost In Time

"This Is How I Remember It" Challenge

in a place which moved away

when we stopped on a lost day

holding hands right by the lake

it was all a dream, but I was awake

you were saying you have plans

Scheherazade, a story with caravans

far away, there’s a desert for “us two”

where “we could have it all” and I’m “with you”

in the sun, a sandy path

with no water in the aftermath

looking for a fairytale lake

tears pooling, thinking promises can break

another person in a line

moving on the dunes of time too fine

to the side, there’s a mirage

many moments in a collage

many stories which got told

an enchanting storyteller with a hold

when you promised me the sun

and I thought that can’t be done

a wonderland with many things

the promise of what the future brings

in a desert looking for it

the place where we stopped a bit

we were sitting by the water

it was all real, or am I mad as a hatter?

could not find it if I tried

that lost little point in a world too wide

it’s been a while since that day

time must have moved it away.

I love the imagery in this poem. It's very descriptive. Wonderful work!
