Lost in the Shadows: A Teen's Terrifying Conversation with her Shadow

shadow in dark

By Muhammad AliPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

In the still of night, when all is calm and hush,

A teen girl sits alone, with her thoughts in a rush.

Her shadow on the wall, flickers and moves,

As if it were alive, with something to prove.

The girl feels a chill, run down her spine,

As her shadow speaks, in a voice not quite divine.

It whispers of love, in a way so surreal,

That the girl cannot help, but wonder what's real.

But then the tone changes, to something more grim,

As the shadow speaks, of horrors within.

It tells of a darkness, that lurks in the heart,

And how it can tear lovers and families apart.

The girl is frightened, by the shadow's words,

And she feels like she's trapped, in a world full of hurts.

But then she remembers, the love that she's known,

And she knows that it's something, that can't be overthrown.

She stands up tall, and faces her fear,

She won't let the shadow, bring her tears.

For love is stronger, than any dark thought,

And it's what gives her, the strength she's sought.

So she looks at her shadow, with eyes full of hope,

And she knows that she'll never, be left alone.

For even in the darkness, there's light to be found,

And she'll always have love, to keep her bound.
