The old man sat on the edge of the cliff,
Looking out at the sea.
He had been coming here for years,
To think about his lost love.
"I'll never forget her," he said,
"She was the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.
She had long, flowing hair,
And eyes that were the color of the sea."
He sighed and closed his eyes,
As he remembered the day they met.
It was a warm summer day,
And they were both at the beach.
He had been swimming,
And she had been sunbathing.
He had seen her from across the beach,
And he had been instantly smitten.
He had walked over to her,
And they had started talking.
They had talked for hours,
And he had felt like he had known her his whole life.
They had started dating,
And they had been inseparable ever since.
They had been planning to get married,
But then she had disappeared.
One day, she had just vanished.
No one knew where she had gone,
And no one had ever seen her again.
The old man had searched for her,
But he had never been able to find her.
He had eventually given up,
But he had never forgotten her.
He still came to the cliff every day,
To think about her.
He hoped that one day,
She would come back to him.
"I'll never forget you," he said,
"My love."
He stood up and turned to leave,
But then he stopped.
He thought he saw something in the distance.
He squinted his eyes,
And he saw it again.
It was a figure,
Standing on the beach.
The old man's heart started to race,
He couldn't believe it.
It was her.
He ran down the cliff,
And he ran towards her.
He didn't care who saw him,
He just wanted to hold her in his arms.
When he reached her,
He grabbed her and pulled her close.
He kissed her,
And he held her tight.
"I've never forgotten you," he said,
"I've been waiting for you."
She smiled,
And she said, "I've been waiting for you too."
They stood there for a long time,
Holding each other close.
They were finally together again,
And they would never be apart again.
