Losing words

Shout it out if you know what I mean

By Raymond G. TaylorPublished 5 months ago 1 min read
Rubbish AI illustration. Not me: too much hair and sweater

Words I am losing my words

Though it may sound absurd I fear

That my thinking is far less clear

Than it used to be

When I try to say something I have to stop

What word describes that

That you know that thingammawhat

Surely you cannot blame me for

This frustration I feel

Consternation at my

Lexicon gone manifestation

Or rather lexicon going

Not knowing what word will go next

Spellcheck becoming my friend

That AI thingummy that I now seem to use

To patch up the gaps when I write

Losing sight of what I am trying

To say

Every day I seem to lose

Another word

That one thing that I need

To complete the

The the the

Mental Healthhumor

Ha! Totally know what you mean. Seems to happen more and more lately. Especially when I'm trying to remember a person's name. I can see their face clearly in my head but the name is gone. Hilarious ending to your poem. And thank you for sharing it on the link!

  • The older we get, the more is in our brain, which means that sometimes things get pushed so far down that we think we have forgotten, and sometimes our brains are so packed that there is no room to remember something we saw ten minutes ago. Great take on the thing, and should be a Top something or other

All fidding aside, I had a mini stroke and a literally couldn't not put words together. We joke about it but does happen. You got this. Very relatable poem 💓We can fight this, keep being proactive. Classical music is great for our brain health.
