Looking Up

December 26, 2012

Put it in the bag

Scrunch it up

Light it up

To send it on its way

Let it go without hesitation

Let it go

Don’t even give it a second thought

Don’t even

It’s not your problem

No, not anymore

You’re a free bird now

Soaring through the open skies

Send it off, all your problems

A sendoff of issues and troubles

For your world and mine

Need not these adversaries

We have enough

Enemies within ourselves,

That to pile them higher

Would bring about disaster

We say our feet are big

And our shoes even larger still

But in truth

These are just an illusion

We make our problems

Sometimes

And then make our solutions

Not exist

We can lessen this load

Soften the harsh barrage

Learn a lesson most important

Without the mistake made first

Just heed these words

And you will find

Your breath comes lighter

You stand a bit straighter too
