Longing

Looking to Live Again

By Thomas DurbinPublished about a month ago 1 min read

Moments of life shedding light on the way,

Serenely reflecting, life in full swoon,

Memories illuminate darkest days.

Longing for connection, loving, and play,

Holding out ends for the ties that bind soon,

Moments of life shedding light on the way.

Trauma taught me, love in a detached way,

March to the drummer you hear play your tune,

Memories illuminate darkest days.

Visions of past loves the heart will obey,

Bathing in glow reflected by full moon,

Moments of life shedding light on the way.

Engaged is the mind when work becomes play,

Distracting the soul from heart's burst balloon,

Memories illuminate darkest days.

Natural forces urge bodies to sway,

Body and soul dance under sun and moon,

Moments of life shedding light on the way,

Memories illuminate darkest days.
