Long Way

A POEM

By Jason GiecekPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

I'm a long way gone,

So far away from home,

I ain't seen the sunshine in such a long long time,

A fading memory,

Sadness in a drowning drought,

It been a long time since I've seen home,

I've seen nightmares in brightly lit colors,

Sadness among the beautiful fields,

I've seen sunshine through the rain,

Felt the pain,

A deep dark mystery,

Swallowed up by the pain,

Oh dear lost,

I've seen God cry,

Seen the Devil do the same,

Lost in a nightmare,

Seeing no end in sight,

Oh down that silence,

A bad sign,

The voice dies before the soul,

Guess that's the price of being alive,

No where to run,

No where to hide,

The drowning pool dried up in 1962.

The road isn't clear,

Ends up disappearing before it even begins,

The light at the end of the tunnel fades,

Into nothing,

A train heading into a wall,

Full of passengers,

Waiting for doom,

The end of the line,

No voice left,

Just the doom...
