Lonely Zone

Crazy Town

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 12 months ago 1 min read

A fire burned the tree lines down

As clouds begin to rain

A priest a virgin and some clowns

Wait patiently to board a train

Heading for California

To settle up a score

To salvage an aorta

That was rotten to the core

Sick, twisted and addicted

With an urge to be erased

It’s a wild, wild world out there, my friends

A crazy messed up place

Longing for the noise to end

And a smile to find my face

Somewhere around the river bend

Disappeared without a trace

Just like that, flip of a switch

Nothing will ever be the same

Found them dancing in a ditch

Rocking horses needing tamed

I took off rose colored glasses, then

Took a tums and then a nap

Woke up from this crazy dream

A bunny caught in a bear trap

A right hand man with no right hand

Wearing a sling around my neck

Playing spoons in a marching band

A familiar tune that I forget

Maybe tomorrow will make some sense

Maybe tomorrow will save the day

Maybe today is yesterday past tense

And before long, I’ll be awake
