Alone is the time
when you feel
Everything at once
When you feel
everything is loss
Escape - impossible
Release - a myth
redemeption is
Nothing
but a fabled fantasy
Thoughts of bravery
are rendered
powerless
Delusions of grandeur
That your failings
Are greater than
All your successes
The twilight lie
Your betraying mind
proclaims
to hold you captive
to keep you down
Lonely is the night
But don't
Give up the fight
See past the dark
to the truth
in morning light
Escape is possible
Release is real
Redemption
is
Everything

My New Book is Finally Here
My poetry collection Beautiful and Brutal Things is done. It's actually done and finally published over 270 pages. Over a year of my life went into this book. More than a year, really. Long days at my computer, sometimes seven days a week because I couldn't stop even when I probably should have. Then two months of editing that felt harder than the writing itself. But it's finished, and I'm still standing, and the book is real.

That's all I have to say about that. Rocked my world. That's like a book title, a t-shirt, a poster, a motivational print, a Paul quote that'll go down in history. Unless of course, by morning light it all looks the same or worse. When the daymares are worse than the nightmares, that's when I just want to go back to sleep.
