Lonely Hearts

Paradise lost and found

By Helen SmithPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Lonely hearts break, over and over again

yearning for a magic, not found on these shores

searching for a feeling, whether it be fleeting

the kind that fills your soul

and sends energy cursing through your veins

the kind that keeps you up at night, pondering ideas

ideas that can change the world

a light in your body shining true north

so true, that when you stray from the path

all one can feel is lost

but feelings can always be found again

and they come from within, not from without

they exist in your heart

and coming back home

is sometimes as simple as coming back to oneself

and focusing inwards, not outwards

and delighting in ones own paradise

a paradise controlled by you

not impacted by external forces

somewhere to return to, over and over

regardless of where your feet may be walking
