Lonely Fall

A Poem

By Jessica BurbyPublished 3 years ago Updated 3 years ago 1 min read

The leaves are falling

And emotion keeps me crawling

Crawling towards a grave

Or maybe,

To be saved

How should I know?

When life is simply a show

Smells of cider drift through the air

How will I ever care?

When comfort takes despair

And makes life a soothing home here

This dusty road is long

And is leading me on

Should my ambitions be gone?

Should I still want to live on?

When no one can understand what went wrong

The comforts of fall

remind me of it all

And how lonely feelings abound

When your pushed to the ground

By all that surround

How can I stand tall?

When appearances rule them all.
