sunsets tether you to the world. even if you are viewing it alone. i wrote this in the golden hour of a sunset.

I aim to be whole, by myself

and I am.

But I miss being held, I'm only a human.

I have a terrible habit-

I start to lose sleep.

I make an addiction, out of connection.

I fall in so deep.

Maybe next time it happens, it'll get me six feet.

Every time I get a touch, it goes up in flames.

Face of danger

with no name.

Soon, you'll be the face of a stranger.

and it's okay.

We both know, something so turbulent

leads no where.

So fleeting affairs-

and dead stares-

I guess the silver lining is;

the next time I won't be unprepared.

heartbreak
