Living Lies

Which white lie is true?

"You are a liar..."

His arms were crossed tight,

His blood reeked of the hatred.

"I have never dimmed the light,

I have never said,

A white lie in my life..."

He lied through his teeth,

And smiled from ear to ear.

A grin in which

The crocodile feared.

Did that lie seep through?

Did you believe the wretched devil?

The coward who plays God,

Who masks to be so special.

Are you but a coward?

Hiding from the crowd,

Your toes deep in dirt,

To yell your lies so loud.

Yet your toes stand clean,

As if you flew above the earth.

You're pathetic,

You don't believe for what you're worth.

"Get up coward!

You need to learn to stand.

Are you but a fly,

Who speaks of the angels land?"

He simply gestured to the grave,

And didn't stop to listen.

"You can do better,"

His words were of fiction.

"You are not to be ashamed,

Don't think of what you used to be.

You call yourself a lion,

but underneath a mouse is what you see."

He turned his head down,

Looking away in shame.

His smirk had become a tear,

His sunshine his rain.

So never let your tongue entangle,

In a living white lie.

You only hurt yourself,

It's your own heart you pry open to cry.
