Appreciative. Flawed. Full of unpleasantries. Beautiful.

Too sensitive, too shy, too sarcastic while rolling my eyes.

Unconditional love is where I reside.

When the war on peace tramples on my heart.

The stress of work and not playing the part,

When sickness has invaded and my coughs and aches search for rest,

I’m constantly reminded of the stillness that hears me and the touches that heals and resets.

It’s the people, it’s the smell, it’s the blanket snuggles filling the air.

Feels like....... ahhhhh.

I love breathing it in.

The soft pillowed rest of tranquility covers me as I hold love nightly.

Home is here.

Home is hubby cooking when I’m too pained to lift my hands.

Home is mommy calling to check up on me because I’m still her sweet loving lamb.

Home is laughing with my sisters and shaking my head at my goofy brother.

My playful nieces and nephews. My friends that stick closer than a brother.

If heartbeats could be held and lived in, that’s where I’d stay and live forever.

It is the quick “hey” and the lingering stand at the door as I say “see you later” for the fifth time.

Grateful. Where laughs can bellow after tears we’ve cried.

When I’m unsure and confident the world is too heavy to bare.

And yes, there are times I must get away because sandy beaches and cool drinks brings a different kind of relief.

But the walls of grace and mercy that meets me daily is where I long to be.

So it doesn’t matter if brick or vinyl sides the outer walls.

If the kitchen even seems too small.

The storage has ran out of space and I am tired of cleaning this place.

Let the jingle jangle resonate and the silence hold the same space because you are home.

And I love living in it.
