Live your life in a way that the fear of death never finds a place in your heart. Troublemaking over religion serves no one; instead, respect others’ beliefs and expect the same respect for your own. Cherish your life, make it the best it can be, and fill it with beauty. Aim to live long and with purpose, always in service to your people. When the time comes to cross the great divide, be ready with a noble death song.

Offer a greeting or a nod of respect to everyone you meet, whether friend or stranger, especially in lonely places. Show respect to all, and bow to none. Each morning, give thanks for food, for life, and for the joys that each day brings. If you struggle to find a reason to be grateful, look within; the answer lies there.

Do not abuse people or things, for mistreatment turns the wise into fools and clouds the spirit’s vision. When your time comes to die, don’t be like those who fear death and beg for more time to live differently. Instead, sing your death song proudly, and face the end like a hero going home.
