little origami swans
a poem

you carefully folded
each delicate one,
a hundred replicas
of a sweet paper swan.
.
dangling in colour
from threads of fine string
I cried upon seeing
the effort you put in.
.
my heart wondered why
you cared so very late,
when for two long years
you were so cold with hate.
.
now you wanted
to win my broken heart back,
but ten thousand origami’s
could never achieve that.
.
.

Absolutely beautiful!
this is so good.
'to win my broken heart back, but ten thousand origami’s could never achieve that.' That is sooo powerful. I love the self worth seeping through in the tone! So good Kayleigh!
Loved the flow and rhyme! Great poem and use of origami!
Poignantly beautiful💙.
Sometimes, it's just too late for people to make amends. Loved your poem!
Such a delicate poem, much like the paper swans. Lovely.
Wow, Kayleigh, you are on a roll! I love how this concludes with a bitter pill of harsh reality. You transitioned this perfectly. Beautifully done, Kayleigh!
