You were just another storm
Disguised as paradise.
So much time spent
In the comfort of your arms,
Feeling safe and loved.
Not once imagining this
Cruel transformation.
Yet, now I know.
I still recall your darkness
As it crackled like a thundercloud.
Shocked and thrown into
This whirlwind of emotions,
Feeling lost at sea.
I will stop wearing this
Damned heart on my sleeve.
I will stop trusting those
Merely acting from boredom,
Simulating a genuine soul.
The pain slowly began
Educating after many,
Many agonizing lessons.
Now realizing with
The right mindset,
No one holds the power
To my own nirvana.
