Little and Alive

Railing against abortion in a world that has devalued human life. Humans are humans no matter how small.

By Leah HarrisPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Gentle thumping,

heart beating. Fluttering.

What is life, if not the heartbeat of humanity?

My thoughts are dark,

but I hear you.

I dream of soundwaves, my soul

floating inside you.

You are my home,

you keep me warm, fed and safe.

It's warm, in my own little pool.

It's safe.

Carry me with you,

everyday.

We go together.

I can hear you,

as you talk to people I don't know yet.

I only know you, and the

few other voices I hear during the day.

We snuggle,

I suck my thumb and play with my chord.

My room get's smaller over and over.

I wait, and grow, and learn.

I grow so much,

my legs, toes, finger nails all grow.

All inside you.

Don't let me die.

I'm a person,

I can hear you.

I move, swimming in my liquid bedroom.

Practicing breathing,

heart beating.

Your name is mama,

I wait till the day I meet you.

Don't let them kill me.

I'm a person.

I'm your baby.
