Listen, Imagine, Feel, Embrace

A Day Alone With Nature

By Richie AKA Uni-VersePublished 4 years ago 2 min read

As the sun is eager to awaken

I too, wait for the day

The morning is bitter and brisk

But soon to fade away

Eagerly, the sun is over my head

With a smile upon its face

Gently, touching mine...

With a tender, warm embrace

It loved to kiss my nose

To the faintest shade of red

My cheeks, down to my shoulders

And another upon my head

The sun is so generous with love

For it knows its time is sweet

Night will come to give me rest

Until the next time we meet

Playful whispers pass my ears

As the trees proceed to sway

The wind, it tells me secrets

Though I know not what they say

I pretend it's but a child

And I can barely make out a word

Yet it paints my face with a smile

For it is the sweetest I've ever heard

Carelessly, it quickens

Raising the hair upon my skin

As if to race the time of daylight

And my beating heart within

Its secrets, I do not know them

But then again, tis but a child

What few words I hear, they tell me

To just let my soul run wild

Some days, the clouds will come

During my sorrow and my grief

But not to deprive me of the sun

Instead, to bring my soul relief

They carry something special

Far below the pale blue skies

An abundance of little raindrops

To wash the tears from my eyes

As if they are mourning with me

But with intent to be the cure

So again, they fall to wash away

What my heart is too weak to endure

They are cold, and with discomfort

But not with the means to deprive

Instead, to raise my beating heart

To remind me that I'm still alive

It cleanses all that ails me

Pure from sadness, I am made anew

As well as the road beneath me

And the path I must travel through

I've listened to that which hears me

When I speak, they do reply

We talk for hours with wishes

That the time passes slowly by

We imagine a world of wonder

Beyond what we could see

Should I plant the seeds, and they proceed

then oh, how beautiful this world would be!

I have felt their love so endlessly

By the warmth, the breath and chill

And when my lonely days were empty

They rush to bring me my fill

I am grateful for my companions

In my heart, each have their place

When I wake up, I seek the moment

When I am held by their embrace.
