this instant of a dissonant sway
held more than just a word
bountiful promises held out of reach
and this one single fragment gone

cast to the distance beyond

it's not like it actually came true from a wish
it's either the hangover or the bender
i didn't see it pan out like this
the unexpected springs to mind
there could have been some things i missed
and things still left to find
i didn't sell my hopes and dreams

i puckered my crack and bent my back
and went straight under that fucking pole
