Lingering Summer Heartache

Mental Health Poetry 2

By FRANK? PiccolellaPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

To the fleeting humid pain of summer, comes forth a rush and gust of cool, fall air. Or as much as we can muster in Florida.

I sit and stare and drift off into the invisible humidity being sucked up into the brutal skies. Nature warns humanity.

Hurricane season comes and goes. Buckle down and prepare for natures war. A violently, hot, and sticky summer. I still miss you when you go. I get tired of all the wind though.

Thrown into a swampy pit to lie in the depth of fear of nature. Terrified at first of the tiny raindrops descending upon my head, Soaking the bed of the earth.

It is not the literal rain to fear, but the unseen showers swirling in our minds. I ache for summer even when I lose ten pounds in sweating. Summer is my turf. I'm counting and betting on a forever lingering summer heartache. Summer is but a mind and a place. May this rain wash away my pain of summer coming to an end.
