Like Butter

I feel love sinking into my skin.

Like emulsifying butter.

The science of your existence.

The spiritual ritual that makes my life.

Ay papi.

Tell me again, who do you love?

Tell me again, what you love about me?

Now go tell all those other, chicas.

To kick rocks.

Im your mami now.

Your fishes are now swimming in my sea.

Tell them.

In this deep, deep sea, of coco puffs and lions.

I’m the one who’s limbs spread all across your temple

I’m the one who’s lips sing bubbles of love at every inch of your soul.

Tell them.

Tell them, you love me now.

And that in our home all the writing on the wall is made up of all my poetry I have ever loved you in.

There is not enough God for all of us

But you have me

And I have you.
