Like A Grain of Sand Finding Its Ocean
This is how it feels to be loved.

Heart races,
Tic-tocs quicken.
Breathing shallows as I fall into the deep,
Blue waters pooled on your face
Flanked by the peninsula of your crooked nose.
No man is an island.
Can you be my rock?
*
Eyes widen to draw you in,
Like a lighthouse you beckon me home,
A beacon of shelter in the storm.
This weary traveler on the world's waves,
Grown tired from swimming upstream.
Your pools carry me into the current,
And I know how it feels to be swept away,
Like a grain of sand finding its ocean,
This is how it feels to be loved.
