Lights of Soho

By Lili Miller

By Lili MillerPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

In basements and hollows

To street lamps and sorrows

Awaiting, as the sun is fading

Head just above water

Like lambs to the slaughter

We caved in

The big city called us long ago

Those neon signs hard to ignore

Destined for trouble we’re gullible

But we’re onto something

With not much money, work it out

We came with nothing

Went dancing through the dark

And we’re riding solo

Not even love could hold you down

‘Cause the lights of Soho

Are always calling out, calling out

We’re tragic day dreamers

Blindsided believers

Parading, like we don’t need saving

Could all end tomorrow

But we’ll beg, steal and borrow

To stay here

The big city called us long ago

Those neon signs hard to ignore

A dance with the devil we’re vulnerable

But we’re onto something

With not much money, work it out

We came with nothing

Went dancing through the dark

And we’re riding solo

Not even love could hold you down

‘Cause the lights of Soho

Are always calling out, calling out

Are we blinded?

Starlight surrounded...

The big city called us long ago

Those neon signs hard to ignore

Lost in your colour so wonderful

Yeh we’re onto something

With not much money, work it out

We came with nothing

Went dancing through the dark

And we’re riding solo

Not even love could hold you down

‘Cause the lights of Soho

Are always calling out, calling out

Are we blinded?

Starlight surrounded...
