Light in the Dark

Darkness comes as the clouds roll in

The sun hidden from view

The heaviness of dark thoughts

Obscure all light

Round and round the darkness swirls

Creating confusion and chaos

An endless loop frozen in time

With no escape

Consumed by sadness and hopelessness

Held firm in the void

With no sense of direction

Nowhere to go

A sudden spark, a flash

Pierces the emptiness

And then again, a burst of hope

Shows a faint path

Indecision, stay or go

Follow or retreat within

Remain in fear, clothed in despair

Or take a risk

As courage grows, the spark becomes a glow

The path, more defined

Now a clearer way shines true

Ready to venture out

Darkness slowly fades to grey

The glow shines bright as the sun

Brave and strong, continue on

Stall tall in the warmth

Where is the source of love and light

Showing the way

It seemed to come from all around

In reality, my own heart

Heart and mind become as one

Thoughts clear to let in peace

Love expands and radiates

Joy is my release
